Temple of the United Spirit

Creating Sacred Space seems have become the primary reason why I go to the Burning Man art festival in the desert each year, even though this will only be my second year this year.

Last year we created a Goddess Temple that blew us away as much as it did the participants at the festival. For more info on that Temple as well as the one we are starting to coalesce for this year, see here: www.sacredexotic.com/unity/

I think an important part of Sacred Space to remember is that anyone can create it anywhere. It simply needs a passionate person to honor and add love to the space. We create altars everywhere in our lives, even when we don't realize it. We sanctify places in our homes without even recognizing that our entire living room might be focused around a television or a computer. My room focuses on an altar in the center of the room with a blacklight above it for purple fire. ;-)

Altars are Sacred Spaces that do not even cover a full room. Sacred Spaces as locations are living architectural altars, whether a tent, a series of tents/domes, or a full-size major European basilica. May you create Sacred Spaces wherever you go. May the love and cherishing you put into that Space bless the earth and all that interact with that space.
